floLIVE has announced its operational support for GSMA SGP.32 across its global IoT infrastructure, effective through its collaboration with Kigen, a leader in eSIM and remote SIM provisioning technologies. This advancement allows floLIVE to meet diverse customer demands, ranging from full SGP.32 compliance to hybrid deployment models utilizing both SGP.32 and multi-IMSI connectivity, using various SIM formats.

Nadav Doron, floLIVE’s VP of Product Management, emphasized that having immediate access to SGP.32 capabilities and hybrid connectivity options enables the company to cater to a wide range of needs from enterprises, IoT Service Providers, and Mobile Network Operators (MNOs). He highlighted how these models provide operational benefits, such as remote zero-profile provisioning that shifts connectivity decisions directly to enterprises.

Additionally, floLIVE leverages Kigen’s SGP.32-compliant eSIM IoT Remote Manager (eIM) and secure eSIM OS to facilitate a streamlined “factory-to-field” experience. The implementation of Kigen’s In-Factory Profile Provisioning (IFPP) allows floLIVE to ship eUICCs pre-configured with an initial connectivity profile, ensuring devices can connect instantly upon activation. This capability supports a global solution for massive IoT deployments, simplifying the connectivity process significantly.

Jean-Louis Carrara, Global Head of Sales at Kigen, remarked that SGP.32 provides essential operational layers for connectivity states, enabling scalable market expansions and fleet transitions. The combination of Kigen’s SGP.32 eSIMs and their certified eIM is designed for practical IoT applications, accommodating secure indirect profile delivery even in sensitive environments.

Expectations for SGP.32 adoption are high, especially as providers prepare for a phased rollout leading to mass implementation by 2026. The anticipated benefits include reduced customer lock-in, assured future-proofing, and diminished operational risks for enterprises, alongside allowing MNOs the chance to introduce new managed services to retain enterprise clients.

While acknowledging the simplifications SGP.32 offers, Doron pointed out ongoing challenges related to network complexity, backend integration, compliance issues, cost management, and multi-operator administration.
