The event is expected to attract over 2,000 delegates and more than 10,000 visitors at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

Organized by the Ministry of Digital, in collaboration with the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and Digital Nasional Bhd (DNB), SCEKL25 aims to highlight Malaysia’s leadership in developing AI-driven, people-centric smart cities across the ASEAN region.

Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo emphasized that the expo supports both national and regional initiatives, such as the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint and the ASEAN Smart Cities Network. “At its core, SCEKL25 is about accelerating a new urban vision, one that is green, efficient, and inclusive, with the rakyat at the heart of every innovation,” he said.

MDEC CEO Anuar Fariz Fadzil discussed ongoing AI-powered projects, including predictive traffic systems in Penang, smart traffic optimization in Kuala Lumpur, and geospatial intelligence in Sabah. These initiatives aim to enhance public services and foster growth for startups and SMEs across borders.

DNB CEO Datuk Azman Ismail noted that the expo presents strategic chances for investment, knowledge sharing, and collaboration. He commented, “SCEKL25 will elevate Malaysia’s global profile in smart city innovation.”

The expo is themed ‘AI Cities: Shaping Our Digital Future,’ and is positioned as a vital platform to advance AI technology, digital infrastructure, and equitable urban development throughout the region.
