Promotion of Semiconductor and AI Industries in Da Nang

During the “Vision & Partnership Day” event in Da Nang, part of the Artificial Intelligence and Semiconductors Conference (AISC) 2025, experts presented strategies to cultivate the city’s semiconductor and artificial intelligence (AI) sectors. Key figures emphasized Da Nang’s potential due to its advancements in information technology and its commitment to developing high-quality human resources.

Dr. Christopher Nguyen, CEO of Aitomatic, underscored the importance of attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) specifically targeting semiconductors and AI. He advised that Da Nang should explore innovative fields like edge AI, which facilitates real-time data processing on local devices, enhancing security and efficiency. He stressed that the city must actively attract talent and train skilled professionals to meet industry demands.

Similarly, Mr. Nanda Kishore highlighted the need to integrate AI more broadly to boost labor productivity and support the city’s goal of enhancing semiconductor capabilities. Mr. Nhu Huy Hoang, General Director of NousLogic Telehealth, noted that Da Nang could leverage its strategic location and supportive policies for tech growth. He encouraged the city to create an attractive working environment to draw foreign investors and experts.

According to Mr. Le Hoang Phuc, Director of the Danang Semiconductor and Artificial Intelligence Center for Research and Training (DSAC), ongoing training initiatives are crucial for fostering semiconductor and AI development. DSAC plans to offer microchip design courses and collaborate with major players like Microsoft, Intel, and Nvidia to equip students with essential skills. They are also working to secure investments for infrastructure projects that will bolster research in these fields.

Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, Le Trung Chinh, reiterated his commitment to fostering technology adoption across sectors and providing favorable conditions for tech enterprises, especially in microchips and AI. Da Nang is focusing on three key areas: enhancing infrastructure, developing human capital, and implementing supportive policies. The establishment of the 1,128ha Da Nang High-Tech Park and collaborations with leading universities aim to bolster the city’s tech ecosystem.

In 2024, Da Nang successfully attracted 18 semiconductor companies, a significant increase from the previous year. Moving forward, the city aspires to be recognized as a prime location for investment and research in AI and semiconductor technologies, positioning itself as a leading tech center in the region. The municipal government’s strong commitment and strategic initiatives are expected to propel Da Nang to the forefront of technology innovation in Vietnam.
