The technology aids in the rapid diversion of accumulated rainwater to adjacent drains, water channels, or the sea. In addition to the deployment of the pumps, manpower is organized into three shifts to ensure continuous operation. Coordination among pump operators is facilitated by a designated representative based at the Emergency Management Control Room.

To enhance communication and operational effectiveness, each pump operator has been given smartphones for immediate reporting, allowing for the transmission of photographs to the control room. Geo-fencing measures will be implemented to monitor the attendance and locations of employees during the monsoon period, leveraging an Android mobile app developed for this purpose.

This integrated approach combines the latest technology and efficient resource management, aiming to mitigate the effects of heavy monsoon rainfall on Mumbai’s infrastructure and residents.
