Brave1 Technology Cluster Achievements

Over the last two years, the Brave1 technology cluster has become a significant contributor to Ukraine’s defense innovation efforts. The initiative has seen the participation of more than 1,500 developers who have collectively registered over 3,500 technological solutions. According to Nataliya Kushnerska, COO of Brave1, around 80% of the defense technology implemented at the frontlines originated from cluster participants. This includes notable innovations such as ShaBlya turrets, Lys platforms, Lyut combat robots, TerMIT logistics and evacuation platforms, and Volya-E ground drones.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Defense has given the green light to over 50 electronic warfare devices developed by members of the Brave1 cluster. The cluster has strategically prioritized several innovation areas for funding, which encompass missile production, laser technology, explosive mixtures, AI solutions, and various unmanned systems.

In terms of financial support, Brave1 participants have successfully secured upwards of 50 grants, amounting to more than ₴2.2 billion ($54 million). The grant program has recently resumed, enabling manufacturers to receive funding ranging from ₴500,000 to ₴8 million. This financial boost is essential for the continuous development of cutting-edge defense technologies.

Looking ahead, the cluster’s participants attracted $8 million in investments in 2023, with projections set at $40 million for 2024. With ambitious growth plans, Brave1 aims to secure up to $100 million this year to further enhance its technological capabilities and contributions to military operations.
