China Energy Engineering Corp Ltd (CEEC) is the only central enterprise from China participating in Expo 2025, showcasing its innovative eight-network integrated future city development solution. The expo, hosted in Osaka, opened on April 13 under the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives,” attracting participation from over 150 countries and organizations.

The China Pavilion, which is among the largest foreign self-built pavilions, features the theme “Building a Community of Life for Man and Nature — Future Society of Green Development.” It highlights the principles of traditional ecological wisdom from China’s 5,000-year history and presents the new era’s green development concepts.

Within the pavilion, CEEC’s “Endless Vitality” section emphasizes immersion and interactivity, including a thematic light show that merges digital innovation with cultural heritage. The exhibit underscores China’s achievements in clean energy, artificial intelligence, smart transportation, and sustainable development.

CEEC’s chairman, Song Hailiang, expressed the company’s commitment to creating “livable, resilient, and smart cities.” The proposed eight-network development model integrates energy, transportation, digital, water, ecological, industrial, health, and cultural networks. This model aims to enhance urban economic efficiency, ecological resilience, and cultural vitality through systemic interaction and innovation.

During the exhibition, CEEC highlights over ten cutting-edge clean energy technologies, including marine energy integration, compressed air energy storage, and high-altitude wind power generation. Chu Xinyan, from CEEC’s brand management department, noted that these advancements represent a Chinese response to the global push for energy transformation.

Significantly, CEEC operates the world’s first 300-megawatt compressed air energy storage project in Hubei province, achieving records in power capacity, storage scale, and conversion efficiency. In Jilin province, CEEC is also investing in a major green hydrogen-ammonia-methanol project, while Anhui province hosts the first megawatt-level high-altitude wind power demonstration to connect to the grid.

CEEC remains a comprehensive enterprise, providing integral solutions and services across the global energy, power, and infrastructure sectors, with a presence in over 140 countries and regions. The company’s dedication to energy innovation continues to position it as a leader in sustainable urban development.
